El Tono Del Mar

Mica Bolaños Meade’s 5:39 animated short follows a Mexican migrant worker trying to reconnect with home through voicemails while the unfamiliar sea reflects her dislocation. The film was produced through RE:Anima and Lusófona Films.

I worked as Sound Assistant and Sound Editor, contributing through sound assistance, sound editing, and sound design alongside Fernando Torres Viteri.

The short won Best Mexican Student Short Film at Pixelatl 2024, screened in the official selection at the Guanajuato International Film Festival, and joined CINANIMA’s 2024 international student competition.
