Conservatório Nacional Orchestra in Binaural
Recording of the orchestra of the Escola Artística de Música do Conservatório Nacional at the Antigo Picadeiro Real of the Museu Nacional dos Coches, in Belém, Lisbon, on 19 January 2024. It was the final graduation project of my colleague Abel Paiva at Universidade Lusófona. I placed the microphones, recorded the concert, did the post-production and editing, and made the video.
Dolby Atmos and binaural
The concert was recorded for Dolby Atmos and mixed in Atmos, with a binaural version delivered too, and the project was prepared for screening in a cinema. The video above is the binaural version: listen with headphones.
The orchestra
The school plays often at the Picadeiro Real, within the DGPC’s “Artes no Património” programme. I also worked on other concerts of the school’s orchestra, on live sound and recording, including one in Almada in June 2023.
